Maternity Wrap Up: The Shower

I'm in and out this week, and really so colossally slow-moving I'm not sure I should be allowed in Midtown. You just don't fit in Midtown if you're walking as slow as I am. Even tourists are glaring at me.

So as you can imagine, my 34th Street visits have been knocked down to zero-ish scale. As much as I love the block, the idea of going into labor at, say, Old Navy, is a little daunting. Thus, today, I'm posting some pictures of my fabulous surprise office baby shower, starting with the world's greatest onesie:

The Fashion Herald onesie! Now I can immediately put the kid to work promoting the blog. And here's how babies roll in Bryant Park (the other company I work for):

Irresistible, right? Not available in stores near you, yet, but perhaps in the near future...also from Bryant Park:

This kid-sized chair can be found in the children's reading room area right next to Le Carrousel, our pretty little carousel whose animals have just been lovingly restored and repainted. An inspired gift, yes?!

Here's me, totally, completely surprised:Annnd, my 34th Street tie-in: the tunic top is from Strawberry, bought two summers ago down on 34th Street. Yes, it's totally pilled on the back now, but the cut is perfect for maternity. Honestly, not only do I wear this to work, but I've also been known to wear it on weekends and perhaps maybe to sleep in once...don't forget Strawberry for throw-away maternity looks!

To end, the coup de grace, the cake:

"Happy Baby Sower, Thris!" Which really should read "Happy Baby Shower, Trish," or, if my husband was in attendance "Steve, Happy Baby Sower." But I far prefer the lost in translation version. And Thris is kind of a cool name, right?

Many thanks to my wonderful colleagues for the great baby shower!

Strawberry, 14 W. 34th St. between 5th & 6th
