Susan Woo Fall 2013

Isabelle visits Chelsea Piers to see Susan Woo's eco-friendly Fall 2013 collection.

Susan Woo’s Fashion Week collection was presented not at Lincoln Center, but in the Studio at the Chelsea Piers, a totally different atmosphere for a totally different designer. Woo is committed to respecting environmental causes while creating fashion, hence all the fabrics she uses are 100% eco-friendly and sustainable. She is convinced that "the future of fashion relies on both the ingenuity of design and the sustainability of the environment."

Woo’s collection is at once casual and feminine, with an abundance of belted, high-waisted dresses and skirts that underline feminine curves in easy fabrics and basic color combinations. The fundamentals are black, grey and white, with cameos of electric blue, burgundy red, and deep purple. Cotton, linen and wool dominate, while the occasional silk blouse and leather accent add depth of texture. The collection appeals to women of all ages who want to wear comfortable, eco-friendly fabrics without missing out on style and glamour.
