Fashion Week Day Two, Part II: Lee Jean Youn and Charlotte Ronson

Lee Jean Youn

The show started with deliberately slow models, creeping along the runaway to dramatic music. This unusually slow pace cleverly highlighted the designs, featuring leather straps, sheer tops, feather skirts, and fur accessories. The accessories were standouts: lace headpieces, spiked shoes with knee high socks, and camouflage print pursues spoke to the underlying them of natural elements tinged with a modern edge. A standout look was a long denim skirt embellished with gold pieces and fraying edges, perfectly balanced with a leather top and feather headpiece.

Charlotte Ronson

Charlotte Ronson's Fall 2014 collection was a bit darker than the usual bright and flirty patterns we're accustomed to seeing from this young womenswear designer. Nonetheless, the line still exuded her signature feminine and romantic quality. Sporting wide brimmed hats and socks with high heels, it's a perfect fit for the trendy Manhattan girl (but let's go back to hating headbands please). Her print work is Ronson's strength, from the funky red lips pattern, to bright poppies and paisley. A sheer and navy paneled dress is made modern with its mid-calf line, and overalls are transformed to present day chic in the form of leather suspenders, especially when coupled with an exceptional pair of rounded glasses.
