Searching for Fashion Star

When I saw the Fashion Star on sale on Macys.com, I had to go to Herald Square and stalk the sale racks to see if any was still hanging around. Guess what? Hardly any of the Kara Laricks final collection is there. ALMOST NONE. But if you want to look for yourself, I found the below pants on the third floor, Broadway side, in the sale racks at the bar III department. I also found a sole, plum Lizzie tunic, but personally I found it awkwardly constructed and really short.

Top and green lace bra underneath is bar III, pants are from Kara Laricks final Fashion Star collection.

And, because I was in the land of bar III, I had to try on some of that, too. I would have gotten these orange pants but they were just a bit too short. I like my wide-leg hems dragging on the ground.

Yeah, I got the whole look. I realized I don't have a pair of good neutral trousers, shocking! And that grey top is #1. really long in the back for days you're trying to hide something, and #2. very lightweight for summer. I'd be in heels if I hadn't thrown out my back last week. Thanks, Kimmie Smith x Sebago shoes!

We're still working on zipper skills.

My Kimmie Smith Sebagos

How cute are my Kimmie Smith x Sebago shoes? Honestly, they are a lifesaver for me this spring. I was just thinking that I needed some new spring flats, something really comfortable, and these came in the mail. JOY. I've been wearing them daily for commuting and on weekends. Thank you, Kimmie. I urge everyone to check out her collaboration in Bloomingdales in New York City (also San Francisco and on HSN), and visit Macy's Herald Square for more Sebagos.

I love a classic shoe. Next up? Penny loafers. I need!

Sebago for Spring 2012

During fashion week last month I had the chance to drop by Robert Verdi's Lounge in Midtown just off of 34th Street to view Kimmie Smith's collaboration with Sebago for Spring 2012, and Kimmie has made me a Sebago convert.

Love the color combinations. Congrats to Kimmie on making a traditional boat shoe so chic! She's even got packable styles perfect for travel. Kimmie's Sebagos will be available in Bloomingdale's and on HSN in the spring, and some of these men's styles can be found in Macy's Herald Square come spring:

I'm totally on board (haha) with the boat shoe getting a stylish makeover, especially from a fashion blogger and media personality as lovely and chic as Kimmie. Well done, Sebago!
