More Reasons to Shop Bryant Park!

Our sister company, Bryant Park, has some new items on its shop this month, so I wrote the post below for the Bryant Park Blog. Be sure to check out the new tees, and also the Bryant Park Bistro Chair sale for the 125th Anniversary of the Fermob bistro chair!

What's new to the Bryant Park Shop this month? Our very musically-inclined 2014 Musical Chairs tees.

Every summer we host a hugely popular Musical Chairs event and design a T-Shirt to commemorate the fun. Now you can participate by getting your own in "storm" (above) or "cardinal" (below).

New tees means we need to make room in our shop closet, so our 2013 Musical Chairs tee is now on sale for $10! But wait, there's more...

 Meet Me on the Lawn Blanket

We also have a lovely new red blanket! Last year we introduced the blue "Meet Me on the Lawn" sweatshirt blanket for our HBO Film Festival, and this year we've added a new color and slightly different design: this one has a tie while last year's has straps. Both are now available here.

Also, don't forget that we are hosting a very rare Bryant Park bistro chair sale (save $40) to celebrate the chair's 125th anniversary. Shop all our sale items here.

Happy Bryant Park shopping!

Broadway Bites Makes Me Go YUM!

If you work in the 34th Street District and you've been under a rock (or tied to your computer screen) for the last couple weeks, this is your reminder to get out into Greeley Square and enjoy the culinary fabulousness that is Broadway Bites.
Brought to you by Urban Space, the same company that does Mad. Sq. Eats, this is a food market not to be missed. It's open daily from 11am-9pm (through August 1st) so you've got a lot of options to avoid huge lunch crowds. I stopped by right at noon today (below) and devoured a shrimp taco (above) from Seoul Lee Korean Barbecue, and am planning on returning soon for their wings. Seoul Lee is just a small sample of great nom-nom'ing options, but I also recommend trying newcomers Breads Bakery (yeah, bread) and Mimi & Coco (teriyaki balls!), in addition to delicious standbys like Red Hook Lobster Pound and Roberta's. Of course, you must use #bwaybites to Instagram all the pretty food you'll be enjoying in Greeley Square this summer.

Broadway Bites
Greeley Square, between 32nd and 33rd Streets and Broadway and Sixth Avenue
Open daily 11am-9pm through August 1st, 2014

H&M Herald Square: Shorts, Minimalism, and Fruit

If I haven't been to H&M Herald Square in a while, I suss out the ground floor to find where they've moved their trend section, or the place where I find:

Perfect minimal looks;

Great orange maxis and orange slice tops (or grapefruit slice tops, whatever you're craving);

And excellent shorts.

This is the section I often have to walk by with eyes shut, or I'll end up dropping $100 on a couple things too perfect to resist. This is also the section I always go to when I need an event outfit. Currently it's immediately on your right as you enter the Herald Square store, but its location changes often, so it might be further back in the store on the left (clever tactic...). You'll know you're there when you suddenly find yourself with an armload of clothes, praying there's no dressing room line. Just try to shop before noon and after 2pm!

DSW Shoe of the Week: Kelsi Dagger Bootie

Yes, please, Kelsi Dagger Balldance Bootie.The open toe and side vents help you boot up for summer if you're uncomfortable in a full-on look for warm weather days.

Personally I'd choose the above, but it also comes in black.

And for $79.95? Compared to its regular $140 price tag, it's a steal.

From the Archives: Herald and Greeley Before and After

Recently, we sent photographer Angelito Jusay out to take some shots of the new horticulture installations in Herald and Greeley Square Parks. To compare, we looked back at some photos taken from the same angles nearly 20 years ago. A lot has changed.

Cute and Comfortable at Aerosoles

Aerosoles really gets New Yorkers. This is a walking town, but a chic walking town, so we need comfort and style. Enter these peep-toe pumps featuring Aerosoles' exclusive "Heel Rest" technology.

Heels designed for maximum comfort at a very reasonable $69.

According to the American Osteopathic Association, "One in ten women wears high heels at least three days a week." Yeah, that sounds about right. There was a time I happily wore heels at least four days a week, ignoring any kind of warnings that the aforementioned association published, like that high-heels are one of the "biggest factors leading to foot problems in women, with up to a third suffering permanent problems as a result of prolonged wear." Yes, that's when I cover my ears. I hear no evil when it comes to heels.

Luckily, for those of us who are addicted to height, Aerosoles developed "Heel Rest" technology. The Heel Rest distributes weight towards the heel and away from the ball of the foot, resulting in superior comfort.

3 inches of comfort: the perfect walking heel.

Now you know why Aerosoles has the most comfortable heels. Stop by the 34th Street boutique and try on a pair, I think you'll be pleased at not just the comfort, but also the very cute selection.

Zumiez: Now Open on 34th Street

Looks great, right? Zumiez recently opened their 34th Street store in the old Aeropostale space at 15 West 34th Street, and it's a good-looking addition to the north side of 34th Street.

Visit for your skate/snow/surf needs. This is Manhattan's second Zumiez outpost (first is at 840 Broadway in the Village). Inside you'll find Married to the Mob, Crooks & Castles, Vans, Nixon and G-Shock watches, a skateboard section, and a lot more.
