Pamella Roland
East meets West in Pamella Roland’s 2015 Japanese inspired runway collection. Structured yet feminine daytime pieces in subtle, neutral shades of white, taupe, and pastels gave way to evening pieces in bolder fabrics, including shimmery silvers and black satins draped and tied with strong elements of kimono folds and sashes. From the model's cherry pink makeup to beautifully painted fabrics in soft blues, lavenders and pinks, the inspiration of the Kyoto Gardens, specifically the cherry blossoms, was thematic throughout. Audiences were dazzled as the final piece: a billowing off-the-shoulder ivory wedding gown that floated its way gracefully down the runway.

Zang Toi
The highly anticipated Zang Toi show opened with a model sashaying down the runway in a show stopping black crocodile ensemble to Lenny Kravitz’s “American Woman”. A fitting start to the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of his label, named “A Privileged Life: The American Dream." Each look was carefully realized to fit the designer's notion of American glamour, from every inch of detail, the use of pattern and colors, and the name of each look (eg: American Starlet, American Heiress, Portrait of the All American Prince). Red striped sports coats and tailored suits, hand-beaded orchid gowns, dramatic empire waists, strands of pearls, and the finale ivory lace coat perfectly exemplify regal American beauty from the eyes of Zang Toi.
