Polka Dots and Sweaters at H&M Herald Square

I'm home today with Baby Herald, and while she screams in her crib, delaying nap time a few more loud, precious minutes, I'm posting some favorite H&M polka dots. This is perfectly apt while spending time with Baby Herald as she is obsessed with dots, circles, pretty much anything round. I'm thinking later in life she's gonna love her some Rei Kawakubo.

H&M is not where I usually go for sweaters, but when I saw the above on the first floor weeks ago, I had to try them on. I was so enamored, I now look for the polka dot sweaters at every H&M visit, and each time the grouping is a little smaller. Keep an eye out for them the next time you're at H&M Herald Square. I think they're worth one of those H&M rolls of the dice, where you hope you get lucky and the quality is miraculously good and the sweater doesn't pill.and doesn't get those little holes after several wears. All you H&M shoppers know what I'm talking about: sometimes that favorite H&M piece lasts a season, and sometimes, inexplicably, for years.

More H&M sweaters, love the design and length.
Retro! Really tight pants also H&M.

Comfort Camouflage

For some strange reason, when I visited Old Navy on 34th Street last week, all I grabbed were cozy neutrals. I couldn't get enough beige and more-bland-than beige. Was it was the cold weather, or the anticipation of a holiday at mom's, where all I want to do is put on enormous fluffy sweatsuit things, blend into the background and read? Problem with that is all the ensuing, scary holiday photos. The following may help solve my Christmas Day photo woes:

This almost matches my skin and I still love it. And no to sallow yellow stripes for me.

Love the light pink cashmere wrap, now $47.70, and the beige striped turtleneck? Perfect for holiday couch napping.

I'll wear it all if you give me something blue on top. And I can never pass on these sporty vests, just don't, like me, forget to wear something underneath.

I won't even tell you Old Navy is having a sale. I think we all understand Old Navy, like everyone else, is discounting these days. Makes me wonder how much this will all be on December 26th? And the sister store, Gap, is having a hat/glove/scarf sale, all $10 a piece today and tomorrow. Don't forget these.

For more sale information on 34th Street, go here. I update weekly, sometimes bi-weekly, but please don't expect perfection. I rarely strive for perfection in a normal month, let alone December.

Daffy's Dog Day

No one in the office, who is right now looking over my shoulder at these sweater pictures, knows if this Callixta cardigan ($89.99) is fabulous or scary:

Puppy!

I have a big back so no worries, the head will not look so strained on yours.

This means it is fabulous, and you can own it if you run to Daffy's Herald Square, 6th floor registers, and ask for "Jenny L's" hold. Look, it's an adorable, collegiate-retro sweater in the front, and a crazy, dog lady sweater in the back! I can say that, being a crazy cat lady.

This is also on hold with the dog head, a White + Warren 100% cashmere cardigan ($89.99). Just in case you're not into Dalmatians.

Winter Romance

Finally, soft mix of brown cashmere and silk, I can parade you and your hoodie around;

Yes, bone wrap, I'll layer your light cashmere blend even through Spring;

And eggplant, the elegant purple cashmere, you're luxurious and professional at once;

Bell-sleeved and woolly sweetie, I'm your biggest fan;

But don't worry, cheap wool and acrylic blend, you will always be my $24.99 trendy savior (well, until you get all pilly).
