34th Street Weekend Picks: Last Chance Weekend?

Winter sales are winding down! Lots of stores on 34th Street have an extra percentage off already very discounted prices, like the extra 50% off the lowest sale price at Gap. This should be the last of the sales (this weekend and maybe next, but expect slim pickings) before stores move out merchandise for spring, so if you can, visit 34th Street this weekend.

Take 50% off the lowest marked price on select sale items. There is a decent amount of good basic and Designed & Crafted (bottom right) merchandise available. My favorite pick is the Bowery super soft tees on sale ($6.49), and the Seamless tee I snatched up for $2.48 (below left). 60 West 34th Street at Broadway

They are giving us fair warning. Prices are as marked, and they are low. I always scour the kid's section for cute accessories, and this week I picked up a cat-ear headband for under a $1, and a riding hat for $2.50. I Think I Need: Gap Logo Tees

I've been meaning to bring this one up for a while: classic Gap logo tees. I'll admit I'm completely surprised I'm saying this, because as much as I love and shop Gap Herald Square, I have never owned a T-shirt that says "Gap" on it. But their new logo tees look really, really great. The one above is kind of amazing.

I first noticed the new tees in the men's department at Herald Square.

Again, I'm impressed. I would totally wear one of the above home from my boyfriend's if I was still doing things like borrowing boyfriend's T-shirts. Now I just wear my husband's shirts on the weekend, sleep in his boxers, and "borrow" my sisters' clothes when I'm visiting. But none of that is so exotic that it will spawn a whole genre of clothing, right? Sister jeans? Husband jackets? No way! Or never say never?

This one goes out to all you pregnant women who are right now staring at the computer screen, struggling to stay awake, or gasping up subway steps like a 90-year old man, or glaring at rude people on the subway who won't give up their seat.
