Spotted on the 2nd floor of Macy's Herald Square: sweater by Hoss, $248.
Step back and it looks like it may be smiling, but click up close and it could be more of a serious-demeanor kind of sweater. I don't even know if that's an attached layer or a skirt underneath, but I love it as an attached layer. I should have investigated more closely (the skirt/layer matches the lining of the sweater), but I was distracted by the face. And the cut and color, which I think is gorgeous for fall.

Maternity Wrap Up: The Shower
I'm in and out this week, and really so colossally slow-moving I'm not sure I should be allowed in Midtown. You just don't fit in Midtown if you're walking as slow as I am. Even tourists are glaring at me.
So as you can imagine, my 34th Street visits have been knocked down to zero-ish scale. As much as I love the block, the idea of going into labor at, say, Old Navy, is a little daunting. Thus, today, I'm posting some pictures of my fabulous surprise office baby shower, starting with the world's greatest onesie:
The Fashion Herald onesie! Now I can immediately put the kid to work promoting the blog. And here's how babies roll in Bryant Park (the other company I work for):
Irresistible, right? Not available in stores near you, yet, but perhaps in the near future...also from Bryant Park:
This kid-sized chair can be found in the children's reading room area right next to Le Carrousel, our pretty little carousel whose animals have just been lovingly restored and repainted. An inspired gift, yes?!
Here's me, totally, completely surprised:
Annnd, my 34th Street tie-in: the tunic top is from Strawberry, bought two summers ago down on 34th Street. Yes, it's totally pilled on the back now, but the cut is perfect for maternity. Honestly, not only do I wear this to work, but I've also been known to wear it on weekends and perhaps maybe to sleep in once...don't forget Strawberry for throw-away maternity looks!
To end, the coup de grace, the cake:
"Happy Baby Sower, Thris!" Which really should read "Happy Baby Shower, Trish," or, if my husband was in attendance "Steve, Happy Baby Sower." But I far prefer the lost in translation version. And Thris is kind of a cool name, right?
Many thanks to my wonderful colleagues for the great baby shower!

Going Pink at Lady Foot Locker
Make a difference and look good doing it at Lady Foot Locker this month. While you're shopping for great kicks for fall, be sure to pick up one of these cute styles that support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the efforts of the American Cancer Society (ACS).
The long-sleeved thermals are $18, and $5 of this purchase goes to ACS. The recycled totes sell for $3, and pink string bracelets go for $2.50. And when you're done outfitting yourself, pick up a friend a specially designed "pink" inspired gift card in which 10% of the purchase goes to ACS.
Layer one of those pretty, graphic thermals with a boyfriend jacket or a jumpsuit, or wear it with your favorite denim, all while helping an important cause. And while you're at 34th Street's Lady Foot Locker, you know you're going to find the perfect pair of kicks to top it all off. That is what all those walls of shoes are for, right?

Last Warm Weather Gasp at Gap
It's getting chilly for ruffly, flowered-shirt shots, but I was roaming through my Gap photos and discovered a bunch of maternity pics I had not yet shared. I think it's a great representation of what Gap does best.
What's more Gap than this? Great basic tops and (now) well-fitting pants. Well, at least for me because I don't suffer from vanity sizing issues as much as others because of my height. But I have found in the Post-Patrick Robinson Gap that the pants are fitting better. Men's shirt, $44.50, khaki pants, $59.50, purple sweater on sale for $29.99, and 1969 maternity jeans, $79.50.

Fun, happy prints. Yes, Gap now has these every season. And I feel pretty in them, as opposed to huge, flowery maternity. Top, left, $49.50, and tunic, right, on sale for $24.99.

Dresses for work, and always a little bargain on the sale rack. Brown dress, left, is $59.50. White sweater on sale for $8.97, light blue cropped jeans, $40.99. I always check the Gap sales rack and find something useful for under $10.

For the Men
This Levi's lumberjack look at Macy's Herald Square is what I'm dying to buy for my husband this fall ($79). I'm a sucker for the men in lumberjack plaid. But do I really want him looking so rural-rugged charming while at grad school? Hmmmm...
The lumberjacket's foil, the Sean Jean slightly-puffy jacket (a perfect size puff). Adorable, but not my man's style. It also comes in black, but after seeing the blue who wants black?
The lumberjacket is cut big. You need some broad shoulders to pull it off. And there aren't many small sizes for the Sean John, either. Also, while shopping the Levi's section, look for the Levi's peg-legged skinny cords, now on sale for around $35.

RACHEL at Macy's Herald Square
I have been stalking the Rachel Roy jewelry counter at Macy's Herald Square looking for the above bracelet for Sal at Already Pretty. We figured it would be available at Macy's HS as the RACHEL Rachel Roy collection is exclusive with Macy's, and Herald Square is THE Macy's, but alas, no. We then feared it was one of those pieces that was shown but never made, until I saw it on the website today.Same bracelet? Kind of? To me it looks like a toned-down version of the first. This is getting annoying (see Christian Siriano boot disappointment). I think the times will be a-changing with how these designs are presented, promoted, and sold, with bloggers falling in love with the more bold, "inspiration" pieces, but never seeing them IRL, or a watered-down version.
Now back to Rachel Roy at Macy's Herald Square. The jewelry I can not recommend spending $$ on, as it looks cheap for the price range. But I've passed by her in-store boutiques on the second floor a couple of times now, and each time my eye is caught by a bold piece. Like these lace leggings, that do look much better and lacier in person:
And yesterday I saw a very cute, furry looking jacket for under $100. Her prices are very reasonable, and her pieces are definitely worth a try-on.
