New and Improved at Uniqlo: Kids and Baby Shop

I'm a HUGE Uniqlo fan, but am usually underwhelmed by their kids section. I always stop by and browse when I'm visiting the 34th Street Uniqlo, but rarely buy. They've just got too much competition on the street (Gap, H&M, both home to great baby and kids' section) for me to be willing to pay for a cute but not fabulous graphic tee.

However, big change is afoot at Uniqlo kids. They've got a new and improved kids shop, and it now offers exactly what I'm looking for when I shop Uniqlo: great basics, and select super fun designs that make me buy.

Shop it Now: IDLF x Uniqlo

I bought them yesterday (two pairs, actually), and I'm wearing them today. They are going immediately into rotation with my Office Black Jeans. They are supremely comfortable and are not binding me in any way around my waist, hips, thighs, or elsewhere on my lower body. It's like I'm wearing ghost pants.

Yes, I'm following up my Ines de la Fressange Uniqlo collaboration post from the other day because I was so impressed when trying it on today at Uniqlo 34th Street. The fit, cut, and styles are perfect. I mean, look at that blouse. I am almost bought two of them I loved the fit so much.

Shop this collection soon. Today it was a bit of a party around her racks as we all raved about the collection while rifling through looks. "You've got to get the wrap dress." "These pants." "I bought three of her T-shirts and I'm back today for more." I'm guilty as charged, too. As soon as I can, I'm going back for more.

Ines de la Fressange Collection at Uniqlo

Looking for a wardrobe upgrade for your basics that skews sophisticated? Then you must shop the Ines de la Fressange Uniqlo collection. It's being released in four parts, with the first three out and just one more to go, but best-selling items have been recently restocked. Below are some of my favorites available now, including several from her third, just-released collection of luxurious loungewear called Souffle de Parisienne.

Who makes neutral tones look glorious? Yes, Ines de la Fressange! 

It's easy to see why this collection has been selling out: beautiful, classy basics in perfect neutral tones for a great price is clearly a winning combination.

There is little bold color to be found in this collection except for a bright pink and this perfect little red belt, now on promotion for $9.90.

Pop of color? Check. I'm also looking forward to trying on those pants, above, a classic straight cut designed to be comfortable and versatile. Yes, that means office and/or weekend wear, totally my favorite modus operandi.

I Yearn for Fluffy Yarn

If you, like me, are obsessed with Uniqlo's fleece loungewear dresses, wait until you see their Fluffy Yarn collection. I spotted these today at the 34th Street store, second floor.

Leggings, shorts, socks...can you see the softness of the fluffy yearn, I mean yarn, in the photo above? Let's check out the close-up.

Amazing. Read a review here. Yes, these will keep your rear warm for the next Polar Vortex. I also like this quote: "Perfect for layering with a loungewear dress." It's like someone at Uniqlo is living in my brain.

Uniqlo 34th Street: Flexible, Fabulous Loungewear

Because I'm envious of the older European women in our neighborhood who walk around in those sack-like, easy day-dresses that look like they are from another era, it shouldn't be surprising that the below, spotted in Uniqlo on 34th Street, greatly appealed to all my loungewear needs.

All loungewear shown here is $19.90

I'm not saying I want to go outside in my pjs, but I do like my "not-leaving-the-apartment-today" clothing to be flexible. I might be forced to get the paper off the front stoop, or run around the corner for cat food and milk. I feel like now I can do the latter in a dress that is comfortable enough to hibernate in. Both of the above are made in Uniqlo's micro fleece. Odds are very high that I'll be wearing one of these straight through the Christmas vacation.
