Shop it Now: IDLF x Uniqlo

I bought them yesterday (two pairs, actually), and I'm wearing them today. They are going immediately into rotation with my Office Black Jeans. They are supremely comfortable and are not binding me in any way around my waist, hips, thighs, or elsewhere on my lower body. It's like I'm wearing ghost pants.

Yes, I'm following up my Ines de la Fressange Uniqlo collaboration post from the other day because I was so impressed when trying it on today at Uniqlo 34th Street. The fit, cut, and styles are perfect. I mean, look at that blouse. I am almost bought two of them I loved the fit so much.

Shop this collection soon. Today it was a bit of a party around her racks as we all raved about the collection while rifling through looks. "You've got to get the wrap dress." "These pants." "I bought three of her T-shirts and I'm back today for more." I'm guilty as charged, too. As soon as I can, I'm going back for more.

Don't Forget: Doo.Ri for Impulse at Macy's

Next Wednesday the 15th, the Doo.Ri for Impulse collection hits Macy's Herald Square. If you need convincing, just watch the very brief and alluring video below.

Did you see the prints? The maxi dress? All that will be on the second floor of Macy's Herald Square, which is where you can usually find me when I'm at Macy's. And who can blame me.

Giambattista Valli at Macy's: On Sale & in the Dressing Room

Yes, the Giambattista Valli for Impulse on 2 in Macy's Herald Square is now 25 % off. I dropped by to try some of it on, and it was all about the dresses.

I call these fantasy dresses, meaning when you try them on you are suddenly living your alternative glamorous life. For example: instead of sitting on the subway wondering how many more pukings Bunny can take before he falls apart in the washer, you are lounging poolside wondering how quickly you can get the waiter fired because he isn't bringing you drinks fast enough.

OK, the fabulous red and black on the left is a skirt and blouse, but the rest are dresses. So many great  party options for the holidays, I can't believe any of it is left on the floor. Hurry so you get your size and can treat yourself to some Giambattista Valli fantasy for incredible prices.

H&M: Marni & the Spring '12 Preview

Heard the news about Marni for H&M? Of course you have! According to Harper's Bazaar, this collaboration is launching March 8th 2012, which isn't a Saturday. But as I told Fashion Pulse last night on Twitter, I'm happy with a weekday launch as that way I can stay home in Queens and sleep in on a Saturday. Haha! Like moms to toddlers ever sleep in. Anyways, I LOVE this collab, what a perfect choice after Versace. I'll definitely be buying some Marni prints. Also this black necklace if it's up for grabs:

Photo from Style.com. I really want Consuelo Castiglione's cozy-chic look.

Here are a few other H&M things to look forward to in spring. These are from the Spring Press Preview. I'm only supposed to post one photo, but I was feeling very predictable posting the fabulous quilted black biker jacket and felt I had to represent some color. Note the orange-red and cool blue colors. Add some yellow and you're set for spring '12. These hues look very retro and feminine, and the clothing styles follow suit. Also, note the wedges. H&M shoes get better every season.

Desigual & Lacroix

Desigual is really in the air over here at Fashion Herald these days. But I just noticed this on their Twitter and had to share:

Image courtesy of Desigual blog. I'm not sure how I feel about more mouse ears (so 2010) but I do like the Desigual/Lacroix interpretation.

According to Desigual's blog, the company is now working with Christian Lacroix. Yesterday Desigual showed a 30-piece collection from the Fall/Winter 2011 collaboration, and they promise more for Summer 2012. From the looks shown on the blog, I emphatically say yes, more please. I need those printed tights. And although it seems so obvious now, I would never have put two and two together to make a Desigual/Lacroix connection. What a love match. Stay tuned as I try and get more information on prices and availability.

Intern Craig Conquers Lanvin for H&M

I did it. I stayed up all night all for the love of Alber Elbaz. I started my evening by comparing both of our H&M stores, Herald Square and Penn Station. The Herald Square line was shorter but the people at Penn Station were so much more fun.

At 3 a.m, I decided to hop on line which was already 30 people long at that point. I quickly made friends with my partners in crime around me as we decided what we were getting. Some wise soul printed out every piece so we could make absolutely sure what to make a bee line for once inside.

The line started to pick up around 4:30 and went all the way around 7th. The next three hours were the worst as the anticipation started to build up. It was at this point that I started asking all our Twitter followers about wearing a bow tie. Clearly the fatigue had gotten to me because you couldn't pay me to wear a bow tie on a good day.

Luckily around 7, we were treated with coffee and croissants. I declined the coffee because it would just get in the way of my main focus, the leopard print tee.

We all got cute tote bags with our wristbands. Enjoy this picture of the fabulous LaDivaSosa, number 1 in line with her tote!
I headed down to the women's section first to investigate the scene but I couldn't get any pictures because I was so overwhelmed. By the time I got to men's, it had been decimated. I was lucky enough to grab the tee and bolt before collapsing into a Lanvin coma for the better part of a day.

If you didn't have a chance to stop by the stores today, keep your eyes peeled around the city. Many shoppers are going to be returning the pieces they don't want, which means you'll have a second chance at Lanvin. Good luck!

LeBron and Lanvin

Brooding...
and brooding.

Are you over LeBron James going to Miami, yet? Resolved to do anything for a Lanvin H&M dress? Or wondering what the hell I'm talking about? Well, it's line waiting week on 34th Street for two well-known and highly coveted brands: Lebron and Lanvin.

Visit Footaction on 34th and 7th Avenue this evening for the midnight release party of LeBron's Nike Air Max LeBron 8 "South Beach" shoe. Yeah, "South Beach," not "Midtown" or "34th Street" or "The Garden," all of which, IMHO, sound a lot more basketball than "South Beach." Oh, well, at least tonight Footaction is throwing a party with a raffle, DJ, and prizes; click on the flyer above for more details. But if you're a serious sneakerhead, you're probably at Footaction on 34th & 7th right now waiting in line.

And don't forget that both H&Ms on 34th Street are carrying the Lanvin for H&M and are opening early at 8am on Saturday. Intern Craig and I reviewed strategy yesterday. The drag king in me wants to run with him to mens and get the bright blue brogues. But I really, really need the above black dress for $99. Below are several other things I'd like. If you want any Lanvin, you're going to have to act like a sneakerhead and get in line early Saturday morning, because the first 320 at each store get a color-coded bracelet that enables them to shop for 15 minutes, starting at 8am, before the collection is opened to the public. Also, bring supplies, because this also means you could be in line until noon on Saturday. Check Racked NY for more details.

GLORIOUS NEWS.

Whoops, forgot to publish this over the weekend, so today we'll let Intern Craig gush about H&M's new collaboration while Fashion Herald attempts to put together a last minute Fashion Week wardrobe on 34th Street...

I don't think I have ever been so excited for a designer collaboration in my life. I was initially disappointed with the early rumors of who H&M decided to collaborate with this time around but I was ever so wrong. Just listen to Alber Elbaz discuss this beautiful pairing:

I think I'm most excited about Alber's mention of H&M becoming luxury. While I love H&M and I completely respect their business model, fast fashion has a tendency to lack in the quality department. Now, I've had good and bad experiences with H&M pieces. I've had a gray wool sweater from H&M for almost 4 years and it is still in top condition. On the other hand, I've had t-shirts fall apart after months of usage.

Yet, the most exciting part is that IT'S FREAKING LANVIN. I had a fantastic opportunity to visit the Barney's Warehouse Sale and pick up a gorgeous overcoat from Lanvin's last collaboration with Acne Jeans. My friends, as well as my boss here at Fashion Herald, are all quite sick of hearing about it. I, however, plan on wearing it every single day this fall. I know this doesn't have much to do with this post but, I just wanted you all to know about my coat. Plan on seeing many pictures of it during Fashion Week.

Don't get your hopes up too soon though. The collection won't be in stores until the end of November. To kill some time, look at this teaser video from H&M which has brought me many laughs because of the unbelievably incorrect guesses it created. Carolina Herrera?! When would Carolina Herrera ever wear anything close to that?!

Ed. note: Now the question is, will the H&M's on 34th Street carry this collaboration? I'm hoping, of course, that both of our H&M's will be involved, but I'll take the Seventh Avenue shop, as it usually gets all of the designer collaborations.

Isabel Toledo for Payless Paris Launch

Isabel and Ruben Toledo in the Paris boutique Colette, launching the Isabel Toledo for Payless collection.

I had to pass this news along from a Payless PR release I received today, especially as Fashion Herald is far away from 34th Street, roaming the Heartland, finding Botkier bags in second-hand stores in Des Moines, Iowa, and checking out the Iowa State Fair's biggest bull. It's ridiculous big.

But this collaboration is pretty big, too, and it took just a few pictures to win me over. Soon as I'm home I'm running to 34th Street and snatching up those yellow-heeled shoes (after running to JCPenney and snatching up some MNG). These shoes may not be in store yet, but if they are I'll post some IRL pics ASAP.

Christian Siriano Makeup Launch

Victoria's Secret, Herald Square, from noon - 3pm today, catch Christian Siriano and the launch of his new makeup line. He'll be signing autographs and you can get a makeover and tips from his team.

Me, I'm waiting for his shoes to hit Payless. Want the green booties. I'll have to check Payless next week, as the fall designer collab lines are usually in Herald Square mid-August.

M Willy at H&M Herald Square

My Matthew Williamson @ H&M Herald Square:

Group accessories shots. The scarf is pretty, but a blah color on me. The very shiny pink belt I just couldn't bring myself to do.

Same for the bright, peacock cardigans. Totally cute for some, but definitely not me.

The necklace and clutch are both over the top, almost in a really good way. I go back and forth about the necklace: too Claire's? And yes, the clutch is that shiny.

I can only describe this T-shirt as "ugly." Horrid color on me. Can anyone wear these colors well?

Impossible getting one's hands on the yellow version of this. A really good piece.

I didn't try on the dresses at Herald Square (nothing stood out) and couldn't get my hands on the peacock dress, but saw it on a girl in the dressing room and it looked just OK. The fit irl was totally different from various celeb pictures seen online.

All in all, this was a fun but spotty collection. I'm still very curious about Part Two, being released on May 14th, as the mens will be involved, and, as AnA says, the fabulous Pucci-esque prints.

Matthew Williamson & H&M Herald Square

The Matthew Williamson collection at H&M, Part 1, is debuting tomorrow morning, April 23rd, at select stores. In NYC that means the flagship at 51st & 5th, Herald Square, and Lexington and 59th. If you want to find the nearest store to your hood, go to the website, click on an item and then "find a store."

Herald Square? Maxi dress, no, leather coat, yes.

But like the CdG collaboration, 51st & 5th has all the pricier, key items. If you're looking for that fabulous maxi dress, wait in line there. Although yes, I am mourning the loss of that gorgeous dress, I can't fork out the $349 for it now, anyway. So Broke Me is happy that all the accessories will be at Herald Square. Want: the peacock leather clutch ($59.90), the peacock necklace ($24.90), and the hot pink belt w/gold studs ($34.90). Yes, I'm one of the few girls in the blogosphere who prefers the pink to the huge black studded belt, which will also be at Herald Square ($49.90). Wide belts do nothing for my waist.

Herald Square? Silk dress, no, belt, yes, and peacock dress, yes.

The brown leather coat paired with the maxi dress, for those of you who have the extra $249, will also be at Herald Square. That's a tempting deal for Matthew WIlliamson, all depending on the quality, of course. Photos tomorrows. The Herald Square store opens at 9am, and if you get there by 8am you should be near the front of the line. Expect the big crush at 51st Street, and beware the line cutters and scarf snatchers.
