The Cosmopolitan Collection at jcpenney

I was gifted this Cosmopolitan Collection clutch from jcpenney just before New York Fashion Week, and it somehow got lost behind a bookshelf. Poor blue bag!

No more bookshelf for you, blue clutch! I particularly like it with my Desigual by Lacroix leggings. Look for the Cosmopolitan Collection in jcpenney now, as their handbags, footwear, intimates, and sleepwear all launched on September 1st.

Anchors & Bags at Billabong

I wish I had better shots of the perfect, big straw hats available at Billabong on 34th Street. I'll have to go back for another shot at them next week.

These iPhone photos still leave a lot to be desired, but trust me, Billabong is a store you should visit while on 34th Street. If there isn't a cute anchor clutch lying around, there's an adorable sweater or a great hat. It's certainly not just for surfing anymore. And the clothing always impresses me, although the sizing can leave a girl cursing in the dressing room. Don't believe it's a size 6, it's juniors, so it's really like an adult 2. At least that's what I like to tell myself!

Cute Clutch

H&M clutch, $16.90, cheap and adorable. Speaking of clutches, Macy's Herald Square has many clutches, purses, bags, etc. currently on sale. And if you're into coming into town this Saturday, hit their big ONE DAY SALE. Friday the store opens early (9am) for a preview day, and both days will have what us old-fashioned types call "door-busters," aka "morning specials," from 9am - 1pm. You know, like the "early bird special" but for clothes.

Oh, White Moccasin!

I'm curiously drawn to the Abaete white moc ($30) from her summer Payless collection:

Because all the hipster girls in my hood are rocking the moccasin? Or because this picture is very deja vu, evoking Mom in the '80's or an older hippy sister? Either way, some weird emotional force is demanding that I go to 34th Street and try them on.

Also from the Payless website, some new alice+olivia for summer:

I don't think this 4-inch patent platform sandal ($35) qualifies as an egregious misuse of preppy pink, like that found yesterday on The Preppy Princess. This is more on the hot side of pink, yes?

For those of us less bold, or with an aversion to hot patent pink, here are some sweet Mary Janes and charming sneaks (both $30). Note the stitching along the edge of the sneaker.

And hark, alice+olivia clutches ($25)! I've seen them in store and up close and personal they look good. Ooo, are you feeling the grey, with the Mary Janes and some cropped skinny pants? Or jeans rolled up? Just humor me and say yes.
