Havaianas Collection Preview

Luckily, a girl can get Havaianas at Macy's, because I was at the preview about a month ago and their collection is a total riot of colors and designs. What is not to adore about all of these comfortable and chic flip-flops?

I know, Mickey Mouse or Muppets? Hard to choose, but that Muppet sole is irresistible.

A couple of bloggers I'm always stoked to see: above is Amy of Midtown Girl and John of John Simon Daily, perusing the flip-flop bar. We also went home with a pair of shoes from Havaianas new Soul Collection. I chose the ballerina espadrille and it's all I've been wearing on weekends, and often on commutes. As you may have surmised, this is one comfortable espadrille.

Also, don't miss their new graffiti collection launched last week. So much Havaiana to love, and just in time for summer.

Fashion Star Episode #9: The H&M Buy

Don't get me wrong, the Kara Laricks trench coat at Macy's is a totally buy-able piece. I'd get both the red and tan if American Express and my husband, who abducted my American Express card, would let me. Sadly, neither are in the mood to comply these days.

Ronnie's white pantsuit didn't do it for me so much, namely due to the fit of the pants (too short for my long inseam). But honestly, the jacket didn't blow me away, either. I thought the length of the jacket looked awkward on TV, and felt the same way in-store.

His dress at H&M is a different story. This is a fantastic day piece, every girl should run to the nearest H&M and buy if you can. It's work-appropriate and sexy in that stark, menswear way.

Also fantastic at H&M: Orly's jackets and her pants, which, even with the side pockets, are super slimming. Go ASAP if you want the yellow jacket as there were only a few left in 6, 8, and 10 this morning.

Kara's dress: OK, honestly, Kara, I wouldn't call it sexy, either, but I love it!

Next week, for the finale? I was surprised Luciana didn't make the cut, and I think Orly is just hitting her stride, and John Varvatos put a plug in for Ronnie. But today I was kind of snoozing over Ronnie's pleats and folds. They are starting to feel one-trick-pony like Nikki's maxis. I find Kara to be a much more interesting designer, so I'm standing by my pick! Go, Kara!

Aerosoles: Fall '12 Preview

It's animal, it's comfortable, it's menswear, and it's brightly retro. It's Aerosoles for Fall, and I'm digging it.

There is so much good on that table above, I was very impressed. But below is my real Number One Hit.

Oh the plaid menswear wedge, and the green, and the suede oxfords: Aerosoles, you have hit a home run. All of the following are really cute, too.

I'm going to fully embrace my menswear-self come fall. I'll be the girl in suits with ties and the sexy but manly wedge.

H&M Creepers

While these aren't close to being like the George Cox creepers I pinned four months ago and am still pining for today, they caught my eye at H&M Penn Station. White, weird, and pretty wild, a lot of what a creeper should be.

Dancing in the Streets

Today Kati writes about our free summer classes available in 34th Street.

In addition to working with area retailers, the 34th Street Partnership also works to beautify the area and give you more reasons to linger a little longer in the 34th Street district. We hang holiday decorations, plant seasonal flowers, and also offer free classes and activities in the public spaces.

This summer, we're pleased to welcome Dancesport back to Herald Square! They'll be offering free salsa and zumba classes on Broadway in the plaza adjacent to Herald Square on Tuesdays and Thursdays all summer long. Take this opportunity to learn new moves and get in shape after-work without straying too far from your office.

If two days a week isn't enough for you, DanceSport's studio is located just around the corner on 34th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. They offer over 70 group dance classes each week, as well as private lessons, and wedding choreography.

Take a peak at highlights from last year's Zumba class in our video reel. These classes are sure to get you dancing in the streets.

Adorable Addition: ruby and jenna

In what used to be a T-shirt store (not exactly missed by me) is now an adorable pop-up full of affordable and charming clothing, and a very strong showing of accessories, from ruby and jenna. We can only hope that ruby and jenna will stay on, but while they are on 34th Street (well, just south of 34th Street), let's make them feel at home with a lot of shopping. That is what we do best on 34th Street.
