Pink Shaving Cream

I'm sure you guys aren't ever like me, stuck in the shower desperate for a shave and no shaving cream in sight. I can never bring myself to buy it. I've got so much crap in my bathroom (lotions, soaps, creams, hair care) that I've never made shaving cream a priority. I usually just grab the hair conditioner. Which means I always run out of conditioner before the shampoo. Annoying.

And doesn't shaving cream seem like a guy thing? Nothing manly, however, about Victoria's Secret. And that's where, last week, I caved and bought shave cream. What's with me these days, carrying a wallet and buying shaving lotion? Does this mean I've finally grown up?

From the new Pink organic and 100% vegan body care line: sulfate and paraben-free shaving cream, which is what I want from all my skin products these days. And no animal testing, so ditto. I'm sure a lot of you have figured out that once you go all natural, you can't go back, so I'm relieved the big chains are finally jumping on board.

Pros: no stinging after shaving underarms and immediately applying my all-natural Arm and Hammer deodorant.

Cons: although none of the products have a heavy fragrance, a couple don't smell so natural to me. Too sweet and fake.

Spring is for Top Downs

Ok, Leighton arrived, conquered, and has floated away in her black Reebok Top Downs, so it's time to talk kicks. Because these new Reeboks for us girls, exclusive to Lady Foot Locker, don't just look good. They're also going to pair up perfectly with your spring wardrobe.

Classic nautical kicking it w/Top Downs. A little New Wave w/polka dot mini & purple hi tops.

Prints are back with us strong this spring. Do a Leighton and wear your Top Downs w/cute dress.

And here I am in the Lady, showing off that print with the H&M denim jacket. Is this not the perfect commuter look for spring? Heavy on the bright pink, yes, but it's spring 2009, ladies, which is almost just like spring 1983. Remember how we got into the groove in the 83?

Dresses, skirt, jacket, and cardigan from Herald Square H&M. Tank tops and scarves from Lady Foot Locker.

Leighton Crush

My inner fan emerged briefly this morning just before noon. That was when Leighton Meester walked right past me at Lady Foot Locker on 34th Street and smiled. I got all "OMG" inside then remembered I don't get celeb crushes. Yes, once a very young Chris Cornell crowd surfed next to me and I may have blacked out. Then there was the mesmerizing hour I spent watching Layne Staley stomp around the parking lot of Hammerjack's scaring metal girls.

But why Leighton? Her perfect skin? Her infectious smile? Her terrific, evil character Blair on Gossip Girl? Her really cute Phillip Lim outfit? Her ability to look adorable in a dress, leather jacket, and black Reebok Top Downs? Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes.

My favorite photo. Cute braid.

Best outfit shot. I think the shoes totally suit her and now I want the pink and black.

Signing autographs: lots of parents w/kids in tow, and Leighton posed for pictures with all of them.

Here I get distracted by her ring, and then her assistant's Fendi.

I think she was there for a good hour.

Leighton charmed everyone. Well, except for maybe a couple unruly photogs, whom she gracefully ignored as she personalized each autograph and took time to speak with everyone who had waited in line. She gave the photographers a few poses, but it was clear Leighton was there for her fans. Smart girl.

Video to be posted on Monday.

Update: Leighton Vid! See, is Blair not charming?!

Leighton in the Lady's House

Meet Leighton Meester! This Saturday at noon, Leighton Meester is visiting Lady Foot Locker on 34th Street to talk about her exciting new Reebok collaboration. Reebok, you say? Yes, kids, get your tops down, Reebok is back and teamed up with my favorite Gossip Girl:

But isn't she everyone's favorite XOXO? I mean, "Serena, Serena, Serena." Bah, gimme Blair! And how cute is she in those new Reebok Top Downs? It's as if Blair just threw off her headband and is jumping for headache-free joy. I would too if I had these in my spring repertoire:

And this is just a tease. Next week is "Leighton in Lady Foot Locker" pictures, the "Leighton in Lady Foot Locker" video, and a mini photo shoot of Top Down looks. We paired up three Top Down colors with some of spring's most irresistible trends from H&M Herald Square and Macy's Herald Square. OMG, Leighton's Reebok Top Downs, a Foot Locker exclusive, are your new go-to sneaker for '09.

write it down: Leighton Meester Lady Foot Locker personal appearance this Saturday, March 7th, at noon. Leighton, the new face of Reebok, will be signing autographs.

Gap 34th Street Update

Gap on 34th Street has the Pierre Hardy Design Edition shoes in white and the lighter brown suede look (both $98):

As I've got the brown leather from last spring, I'd pick up the white and vow to keep my feet tanned and pedicured all summer. Although the green ones that are exclusive online are still my favorites.

And these Pierre's walk just like the ones from last season: noisy wooden clogs that are surprisingly comfortable. I still love these shoes.

Also, 34th Street Gap has a table of the new Artist Edition T-shirts, and they look really cute for spring:

I'll try some on next week and will have some more artist information. Looks like most are $28 (half the profits from sales goes to fight AIDS in Africa).

Love Macy's Moschino

At Macy's Herald Square yesterday, I was sussing out second floor styles for an upcoming Lady Foot Locker post, and couldn't resist trying on this Love Moschino coat dress:

Cream ruffles and black ruffles, with belt and without.

All wrapped up in security devices, but I think you still get the idea.

It fits like a glove, and those ruffles are so tactile and lush I want to throw on fabulous heels, a crazy fabulous hat and go do lunch.
