Craig Critiques: Irmat Pharmacy

A few weeks ago Intern Craig dropped by Irmat Pharmacy to give us his professional opinion. And I saved it for a busy, Fashion Herald brain-dead day. Bless you, Intern Craig, and happy belated birthday!

Today, I decided to abandon the hustle and bustle of Herald Square for Irmat Pharmacy between 33rd and 32nd on Park Avenue. The website promised many cosmetic brands, including those not easily found in stores, so I was really excited.

However, I really wasn't prepared for the range of lines that they do carry. This pharmacy, dare I say, rivals Sephora in terms of brand choice. They have the basics like Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, and St. Ives, as well as, Murad, La Roche-Posay, and more Burt's Bees products than I have ever seen in my life.

It's perfectly okay to feel overwhelmed by the great amount of product, as the employees here have a strong product knowledge base. During my time in the store, I saw them tackle a range of concerns for different customers, and I was completely impressed.

They also have an incredible haircare selection ranging from L'Oreal, Tigi, and other popular brands to higher end lines like Aveda, Bumble and Bumble, Phyto, and Mop.

Another point of interest within this pharmacy: TESTERS! I absolutely hate it when I need to try a lotion or shower gel and can't smell/feel it. Irmat has a tester for every single product, including products from their higher end ranges.

My only advice is to educate yourself on the price of these products before you visit. Essie nail polish is a dollar cheaper here than at Duane Reade, yet OPI is more expensive here.

Irmat also delivers same day within all 5 boroughs, and international shipping is available through FedEx. So next time you're on the east side of 34th Street, be sure to check this neighborhood pharmacy out.
