Nicholas K Spring 2014

Photo 1 from Nicholas K

Get ready for all white layers for Spring '14. Nicholas and Christopher Kunz, of Nicholas K, kicked off this season's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week with a nod to the Apache reservation they grew up next to in Tucson, Arizona. Their signature, laid-back drapery was styled with feathers, headband wraps, and center parted fish tail braids to evoke a Native American tribal vibe.

These slouchy, open-toed boots that look stunning in both ankle and knee-high lengths are my number one must-have for next spring. With lightweight fabrics and loose sheer elements, the layering in the collection feels breezy and fresh. I can't get enough of their white-on-white looks.

The color palette ranged in muted tones of earthy browns, warm charcoal grays, khaki, and dusky purples. Oversized jackets were balanced with shorts, and crop leather jackets were layered with loose cardigans and light knits. Proportions and tailoring was carefully maintained to keep silhouettes from becoming sloppy or overwhelming on the figure. Overall, the collection showed great everyday separates for your wardrobe.

The Nicholas K menswear line perfectly echoed its feminine counterpart with beautifully made jackets layered over linen button-downs and slouchy shorts.
