Which reminds me once again why I ran track and didn't try out for cheerleading. I bet Kira looks mucho mas cute in this dress than Ancient Blogger Lady. But I appeased myself with the best fitting, lace-trimmed tank top ($20) I've ever tried on. It's the best fitting because it gives me cleavage, a near impossible feat:

And here's a pseudo-flashdance shirt. It's virtually impossible for me to pass up anything that looks remotely like Jennifer Beals in Flashdance.












And the coup de grace, the Pinky Tuscadero jacket ($50). I may buy it just to be Pinky Tuscadero for Halloween this year. Or to start my own gang of Pinkettes. Because everyone knows Pinky Tuscadero was the baddest, hot-rod driving girl on prime-time TV. Except for her little sister, Leather, of course.

Kira Plastinina Week, Day 5

While I'm on vacation this week and away from internet access, I've pre-posted Kira Plastinina Week. So I won't be visiting all my favorite blogs but look forward to catching up next week, when I'll also post the Fit Flop winners.

Again, the fit was close for me on most of the pants but I'm just too big. Except for the jodhpurs ($58) and I was tempted to buy them, but I'm waiting to see what other jodhpurs 34th Street has to offer. Which means I'll probably end up missing out on jodhpurs this season. Other favorites are the light grey and pink cowl neck with the abnormally long sleeves, and the cropped 80's turleneck sweater ($38), which I think would be great layered over a dress.

Kira Plastinina Week, Day 4

Time to get serious and tell you what I love about Kira Plastinina on 34th Street. But first, another Lady story! Rebecca was kind enough to bring me a dress she most likely thought would be more Lady - appropriate. Meaning not pink booty shorts. Every shopper should be so lucky to have a Rebecca, as her grey satin dress was such an inspired choice I almost bought it for the wedding last weekend. Unfortunately, my photographs didn't do it justice at all, so I'm not showing it. But here are some other examples that may appeal to us 16+++'ers:

The clothes are a deal at the price point ($20 - $90 and up, but not much), fabrics are solid, cut is good and sizing is consistent. I can tell because I'm slightly too big for the large, but everything was close to being just right. For a junior line on me, that's a miracle. Serious conclusion? I was IMPRESSED and pleasantly surprised. Well done, Plastinina.

Kira Plastinina Week, Day 3

I must give kudos to the adorable and professional sales staff Kira has on 34th Street. They're so good they all kept a straight face as I selected many booty shorts for trying on. Rebecca, you were polite, patient, perfectly attentive, and refrained from attacking me with a pink knife when I didn't buy a thing after giving you almost 50 items to put in my gigantic dressing room.

That gigantic dressing room is the Taj Mahal of pink dressing rooms (see Monday's post). I'm not going to insinuate that Rebecca gave me the big room because I'm so, um, mature, and they thought it'd be easier to drag my ancient body out of there after I keeled over from excessive clothes changing. But while I was shoving a regular-sized leg into a pair of junior-sized jeans, a salesgirl came back to check on Rebecca and her teen +++ client: "How's the Lady doing?" Oh, I foresee a beautiful working relationship with the Kira-ettes! Just keep calling me Lady, girlies, and bring me some tea and biscuits, pronto!

I'm not quite sure what that hoodie says as I can't remember where I left my reading glasses. But I'm pretty sure it's Russian for "Stop ruining my clothes, ancient blogger Lady!"

Kira Plastinina Week, Day 2

Let's start with the shiny stuff from Kira Plastinina on 34th Street:

This silver sequin dress is $88, and well made: NO sequins fell off when I dragged it over my head, and this dress was small for me so I was really yanking.








I'm super tempted by this gold dress, $68. Bravo, Kira! This dress is cute, love the sleeves and the gathering at the neck. Can see this with some black latex tights. Or maybe shiny gold tights. Am I losing my mind?

It's Kira Plastinina Week!

This week, while I'm on vacation, you lucky readers will get 6 WHOLE DAYS of Kira Plastinina. Yes, the Russian retail mogulina that I talked about back in April, has landed on 34th Street and opened up this very pretty, pink store:

And here's the fab dressing room:














This girl's dressing rooms are so much nicer than my apartment. Note the pink. Kira likes pink so much she came up with her own called "kira pink." It may seem a little overwhelming if you are older than 16, but trust me, soon the pink settles into your brain and you are grabbing for sweatshirts like this:

It couldn't be cooler unless it was a real gang hoodie, something like the Pinkettes from Happy Days. We'll discuss Happy Days more later in the week (Pinky Tuscadero, anyone?)

Now, I am not exactly Kira's target audience. I'm significantly older than her desired clientele. But I was curious; is this a teen only store, or can the more mature shopper buy Kira too?

Answers later in the week. But I tried on a sampling of it all because of a special request from eep!ramblings. I'm not going to directly quote her, but let's just say she's interested in seeing me model the pink stuff.

If anyone else wants me to go to a store on 34th Street and act a fool, I am at your mercy. I get paid for this shit!
