While at Gap trying on all the white shirts, I couldn't pass up the tempting GapBody display. And I can't believe this "one-piece" bathing suit ($50). It's a likable, demi-tankini with a great pattern. Here's the official photo and the non-official photo.

I have the worst body for bathing suits and am, every spring, tortured by the fit of the one-piece or bikini bottom. But the bottom of this isn't bad at all. It's flattering and even sexy; note the flattering, curvy side cut and the great back. I'm not in the minority as Gap on 34th Street only had larges and XL's left. Restocking should occur soon. Could it be more Marie-Amelie influence?
The khaki coverup in the photo is a super lightweight dress with a belt. Clever, as it enables a smooth transition to the beach cafe/bar. And look at this cute coverup and striped tank (below, tunics are $44.50 and cami-tank is $16.50). Guess who bought the tank? Guess who has now OD'd on stripes for spring? Someone stop me, please...

Stood Up By Shoes
It's been a long time since I've been stood up, because when you're married it's not really "I've been stood up," it's just "Ooo, I've got some good new ammunition." But M. Hardy stood me up today, perhaps even for the whole season. You know, a girl gets her hopes up, shaves her legs (a big deal for a married woman in the wintertime), trots herself out in the windy cold, only to see what? Well, a lot of cute spring stuff, but STILL it wasn't Pierre Hardy shoes. Latest news is that 34th Street isn't getting the shoes (!!), only the Fifth & 54th Street store (the annex shop) is, and not till March 15th. I knew it was going to be a bad day. Still, Gap Herald Square enjoys torturing me: "Keep checking back, we might get them!" Oh, the torture.
Meanwhile, check out this GapBody newness, of which everything would look better with a tan. Tomorrow I'll show a little "European Collection" Gap, which is usually only found online. But a small selection can be found in the flagship stores. So, as Xmastime would say, CAMON Pierre! Throw a 34th Street flagship store a bone-colored gladiator!

Some cute bikinis, (also try the black maillot, fits great and everyone should have a basic one-piece), great cover-ups (that white tunic also comes in a pretty brown, & I love the yoga skirt. Could this all be the result of some Marie-Amelie?

Anticipating Spring
Arrivals we're looking for on 34th Street in the next couple weeks:
ThreeAsFour collection for Gap. I haven't seen anything from this, but this is from their website (right). Adorable, love the top and wish I could wear those shorts.
Of course, the Pierre Hardy shoes for Gap (the 34th Street staff is so sick of me calling, but I'll piss anyone off for Pierre).
According to Fashionista.com, a GapBody collaboration with Marie-Amelie Sauve will also be arriving soon. Ms. Sauve is a French stylist and consultant for Balenciaga and Paris Vogue. Mmmm, a French-influenced body line at Gap, we have so much to look forward to this spring.
Tara Subkoff for Bebe. Ms. Subkoff calls this collection "'80s feminist meets '40s Hollywood glam." The dresses (right) are lovely; it's interesting how seamless her translation into a mass market is with these designs. Can't wait to see the rest. 34th Street thinks they'll arrive in about three weeks.
More Alice & Olivia shoes at Payless (after seeing the two styles 34th Street managed to sneak in, I'm dying for more). Click here to be notified of arrivals.
The Abaete & Lela Rose lines for Payless are in the store on 34th Street. No mas for the Patricia Field collaboration. Sorry kids!
