The Best Hi-Lo at Express

As far as I'm concerned, Express is the master of the hi-lo. This black skirt is perfect:

Perhaps the mix up there on the left right is not a total success, but it's a fun idea for the younger set and I'm ADORING the crop lace top. Yes, I just said that. Please ignore my wet-rat, rainy-day hair.

Print dress? So cute and good hi-lo for work. The striped dress? Love it and the horizontal stripes are totally not a no-no here.

#1. Express

Because they’ve got a great variety of dresses for 30% off! Casual but fun. Perfect for the office or going out on the town. My favorite was the loose, flowing dress to the far left, with the bedazzled shoulder design. However, I liked every single one I tried on. They were all incredibly comfortable, which is a defining factor in my purchase decision.  Manhattan Mall, Level 1 (33rd St. & 6th Ave.)

#2. Joe Fresh

Because they're having a sale from 25% to 40% off! I'm usually not into this style, but as soon as I tried these dresses on I was in love. They're incredibly comfortable and would go great with flashy shoes and accessories!  215 West 34th Street





#3. Strawberry

Express: The Plums, The Oranges, The Blues for Fall '12

Everyone knows Express has nailed the colorful jean, but for Fall '12 they make autumn a bounty of color across the board. Note the orange trench, bag, and most excellent purple and blue tops below.

Photos are all from last week's fall preview, and once again Express impressed me with their direction, particularly with color palettes, new denim, accessories, and tops.

 Then they've got a whole perfect neutral story backing up all the color. Note the lovely bags...

 

...and the plethora of neutral separates, with some polka dots thrown in.

I'll end with the denim. Express is doing a coated denim you're going to love. I'm looking at you, red print jeans. And mustard, and blue, and all the greens...

34th Street Weekend Sale Picks: The Very Final Esprit Edition

#1.  Esprit
Because this is their last weekend on 34th Street. I'm not sure if there will be much left, as the store felt ransacked and empty on Thursday, but there were still sweaters for $6, T-shirts and tanks for $3 (buy two and get one free), and racks of pants for 80% off. The 34th Street flagship was the final destination of product for all the area stores, so perhaps some lingering product will be sent our way for the last days. The store closes for good on Sunday.

Express: The Spring '12 Preview

Get ready for lemons, tangerines, and more lively hues come spring. At their spring press preview a few weeks ago, Express had a gorgeous lot of all colors with some striking animal prints mixed in.

Standouts were accessories and fabulous, lightweight spring sweaters. Express shoes knocked me out for fall, so I'm not surprised that I adore the spring selection.

A little men's (how fun are those ties?), tables of eye-catching accessories at every turn, and more proof everywhere that Express is really turning it out these days.

Be sure to drop by one of our two Express stores this season and hit up their holiday sales. I highly recommend the skinny jeans and the sequined anything.
