Now Closed: AEO at One Penn Plaza

I'm sad to say the American Eagle Outfitters pop-up at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue is now closed.
Photo from last February.
We were lucky to have this Seventh Avenue AEO outpost when renovations closed the 40 West 34th Street AEO store last year, and will miss its fabulous denim and button-down presence on the West End. No news on who will be replacing AEO at this location (or if they'll be returning?), but we will update here once we get the official word.

Reminder: before the AEO pop-up, this was Footaction's location. Footaction has since moved around the corner to 225 West 34th Street.

The retail times are always a-changing on 34th Street. Never a dull moment.

West End Updates: Lane Bryant Open, Joe Fresh Temporarily Closed

Lane Bryant is back on 34th Street just west of Seventh Avenue, and she's looking lovely.

Pretty store, yes? There's even a mezzanine level. There have been a ton of changes on this block recently. Walk west from  Lane Bryant and you'll see the newly opened Cohen's Fashion Optical and the future home of a sports footwear store relocated Footaction, soon to open. Walk east and you've got Party City, Payless, a currently shuttered Joe Fresh, and DSW. Wait, what? Joe Fresh is closed?

Don't panic, it's reopening soon. Remember, Joe Fresh was one of the pioneers of the new west end of 34th Street with a pop-up back in late 2011. Now that the pop-up is permanent, it looks like Joe Fresh 34th Street is getting a makeover. Look for the store to reopen mid-June.

Winner! And Lebron Launch Party

Congrats to Chandra! She is the winner of the JCPenney Oscars-themed giveaway. Chandra, I'll be in touch!

And for 34th Street kicks news, tonight at Footaction on 7th Avenue and 34th Street is the launch party of the Lebron 8 V2 Entourage shoe. No, Lebron will not be there, but that's a good thing 'cause we're all about 'Melo and 'Mare Show in New York City, now people.

Vinci said: My most precious wedding moment in time(as mother of the bride)was watching my entire family come down the aisle at my oldest daughter's wedding. daoleawood@gmail.com

I love her moment! I also loved what everyone shared as their favorite wedding moment, including bird poop on the groom's dress white Navy uniform, the groom playing basketball after the wedding, the 3 foot tall officiator, and the veil getting stuck on the carpet! So for all you brides to be, don't stress the wedding perfection too much, because you're going to look back fondly at every moment, the romantic and not so romantic alike!

Thanks to everyone for participating, and thanks to JCPenney for offering that beautiful set of pearls for this giveaway. All of you thinking about brides, and weddings, and the necessary jewelry, should check out their two exclusive bridal jewelry collections, "I Said Yes" and "True Love."

And all you brides to be who may know or be in love with a sneakerhead, tell them about this:

A new Jordan release! There will be a DJ, raffle and prizes starting at 10pm tomorrow night, so drop by Footaction and check it all out.
