Orva Shoes: On the Move at 34th Street

There have been signs of this in the past, but now it's official: Orva Shoes has moved from their space at 34 West 34th Street. But no fear, Orva fans, as they are coming soon to 1282 Broadway at 33rd Street.

Updated to add: We just heard that Journeys is moving into the old Orva space at 34 West 34th Street. Journeys previously was in Herald Center, so we are happy they've found a new home in the 34th Street district.

Orva Shoes is closing soon on 34th Street, and everything's on sale for 30% - 50% off, including brands like Dr. Martens, Timberland, Dansko, Birkenstock, Merrell, and Hunter boots.

I picked up a pair of Sorel boots for 50% off. I am so set for winter. If only they had the toddler version the whole family would be good to go, as I got my husband a similar pair of Sorels at Famous Footwear the end of last season.

#1. Old Navy
Because all jeans are on sale. There are so many colors to choose from and they're only $29. I also thought these sweaters were cute and if you buy one you earn $10 of store credit. The in-store and online sale only lasts until August 26th so be sure to take advantage! 150 W. 34th Street.

#2. Express
Because all women's jeans are only $49.90, and all men's jeans are buy 1 get 1 for $29.90. Also, these dresses and the two shirts below are 40% off. I wish I could have purchased all of it! Manhattan Mall, Level 1 (33rd St. & 6th Ave.).

#3. Orva Shoes
Because the store is closing, so everything must go! Which means, basically every pair of shoes is on sale. 34 W. 34th Street.

#4. Uniqlo
Because their jeans are only $29.90! They also have a bunch of different things on sale on their second floor, like sweaters, gym wear, t-shirts and tanks. 31 W. 34th Street.

Earthies at Orva

Oh these Earthies are pretty shoes.

I pick the Monaco, the Riviera, the Tropez, and the Veria. I haven't tried these on yet, but they should be beyond comfortable because that's the whole thing about Earth shoes, the Earthies mother brand. "Earthy," "earthies," I know, I think granola shoes too but Birkenstocks these are not. Earthies just work hard to keep you elevated and your feet well.

Sorel Boots, Please

Orva Shoes isn't what I would call a sexy shoe store.

These must be MINE!

But Orva still inspires intense, needy shoe longings, like those I feel for the tall, Sorel duck boots above.

Ignore all but the green.

Those green Sperry's are pretty lust-worthy, too, but I'm more of the rugged, Sorel type. I choose the Sperry's for The Preppy Princess.

I guess all this winter weather is making me a little outdoor-boot crazy. If you're feeling the same, the new Orva Shoes store on 34th Street can fulfill all your needy boot desires.

The New Shoe Store on 34th Street

Le Chateau is gone, and Orva Shoes has moved in to 34th Street. Expect a lot of outdoor and comfort shoes, like Merrell, Hunter boots (including a wall full of the fleece liners), and Sperry Topsider duck boots. There's also a lot of Ralph by Ralph Lauren, a lot of Clarks, and a lot of Minnetonka mocs by the door, including a pair of ankle moccasin boots I've got my eyes on. I consider this addition to 34th Street to be a replacement of the Florsheim Shoes we lost to the Sovereign Bank at the northern tip of Herald Square, and kind of the staple fill-in for the old Shoe Mania that used to be across the street. Except Orva Shoes is nice and big and easy to shop.













 Dark grey or the more typical moc color? So hard to choose...
