Take an additional 50% off sale items: find them in the back of the boutique by the dressing rooms. Don't think this means pickings are slim. I got the super-cute Alternative T below for around $15, this adorable cropped trucker jacket for the same price, and a coated black midi-skirt for about $25. ZARA Now Open on 34th Street!

The angels are singing, shoppers are rejoicing, life is complete. Zara has re-opened on 34th Street. 

The first floor is now totally dedicated to us girls; on the new lower level you'll find men and kids. During a quick walk-through today I saw about 20 things for my Santa wish list. It's a gorgeous store with a gorgeous selection of apparel, shoes, and boots. Zara just does it better than most, don't they?

Vince Camuto Now Open on 34th Street, Zara Re-Opening Soon

The Vince Camuto boutique opened late last Thursday afternoon, and I was happy to be walking into the store just ten minutes after it rolled out the stanchions and balloons.

It's as pretty inside as it is on the outside. At Vince Camuto on 34th you'll find shoes, handbags, accessories, and clothing. 

Across the street, Zara is still prepping for its November re-opening. Rumors say the store should be back in business by Black Friday, or a few days after. 

I'm sure the security guard next door will be happy I'll no longer be pumping him for Zara intel every two weeks.

Victoria's Secret Manhattan Mall: Now Open. And Closed.

Don't be confused. As of today, a gorgeous new Victoria's Secret is open in the old Charlotte Russe space on the first floor of Manhattan Mall. It's a great space, which you can't really tell from my crap iPhone shot:

It's really a pretty store, stop by for a visit!

The Victoria's Secret on the second floor in Manhattan Mall is now closed. The flagship store on Herald Square is still open, but don't forget, they'll be closing soon for renovations. Luckily, Victoria's Secret has provided us with a nice sign at the old Manhattan Mall space, telling us what's up:

Ack, Zara! Shoppers are freaking out! Now everyone thinks the store is gone! Or never existed. But seriously, what do they care? We love Zara so much that as soon as that wooden thing is gone and the store's renovations are complete, we'll be packing into the 34th Street store, cash and credit card in hand. Yes, the store will reopen. I got the scoop from a friendly security guy in the building next door. That is the most reliable information I can currently get on Zara, who should be tipping him big bills for Christmas 2012.

And now that I think of it, there's tons of construction going on at 35th Street behind Zara. Wild speculation: they are expanding! Oh, I love starting a good retail rumor.

There was a bit of panic on 34th Street this morning:

A Zara 34th Street blackout! I calmed myself with deep, cleansing breaths, then witnessed a girl pounding on the door. I felt her pain, and was ready to join in. But soon, shoppers, soon Zara will reopen. Note the sign: "Opening Soon."

#1. Zara

Because their big summer sale is kicking off today. And I bought my new favorite pants there just a few weeks ago. Go see if you can get them for less, they are a cool, loose summer pant.  39 W. 34th Street

Because I just can't get over the cuteness of the Selena Gomez Dream Out Loud junior line, a lot of which is now on sale. And my favorite "adult" line, Route 66 (below), also has discounted items, like a rack full of booty shorts. I like to wear these inside the apartment for cleaning and weekend dancing around the living room (I'm not joking), or under a short beach cover-up.  250 W. 34th Street

My Go-To Gilbert

Last week I remembered to ask my new video intern, Adrian, to take a few shots of me in Herald Square. Us social media people are always in need of new profile pics, etc., and it's a rare day I've got a photographer hanging out with me in Herald Square.

I'm not crazy about the shoes with the whole look, but this was impromptu and these shoes sit under my desk all summer long. They are Payless (Lower East Side) from almost five years ago, and they are my daily comfortable work wedge. Seriously, I can walk all day through the district in these. And it's a good thing I'm wearing a wedge because I am standing on a subway grate. Herald Square is all subway grate in the middle.

Also if you're thinking hey, your hair actually looks coiffed today, like maybe you didn't have to spend fifteen minutes photoshopping flyaways, this is because I had just visited Gilbert up the block at Jean Pierre Salon (36th & Sixth). Gilbert is not my regular stylist (I've been seeing her for almost twelve years) but he is my fail-safe, go-to guy for bang trims, blow-outs, and last-minute color. I keep a box of John Frieda foam at home, but last week I really needed some chair time. Gilbert is wonderful, and you can find him at Jean Pierre Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

Yes, I get embarrassed when I visit Zara on 34th Street and start shooting iPhone pictures of shoes, as my fellow shoppers look at me like I'm Freaky Shoe Voyeur Lady. And really I kind of am, because I could look all day at the endless parade of adorable shoes lined up under clothes and lolling around on shelves.
