This morning, as I bemoaned my lack of dry shampoo and cursed the short-lived Rene Furterer, I wondered if maybe, after this recession, we'll get more for our money. Now, I'm no economist nor checking account balancer, so I have no idea what I'm talking about. But it seems, that lately, we don't get much for our money. If I pay $24 for a bottle of dry shampoo, I want it to last me a long time. Do you feel lately, that $20 doesn't get you far? Certainly not in the fashion world, where $700 is de rigeur for shoes these days.
So, while I'm waiting for prices to drop (wishful thinking?), I'm picking me up some, yes, PSSSSST! I'm testing it out, spending $6 instead of $24, and seeing if it lasts me longer, and has similar results. Stay posted.

Hi there-good luck with this one!!
Waiting for prices to drop is definitely wishful thinking :-)
I fear that prices of Rene Furterer shampoo will not drop. But, you might find some two for one bargains on Pantene. I don't think that is the kind of bargain my dry hair can afford.;-)
DEFINITELY feel like a $20 doesn't get as much as it used to. At the gas pump, the grocery store, restaurants, everywhere. A dyed-in-the-wool Aveda girl, I tried some of L'oreal's curl shaping creme recently because it was only $5 and it ROCKS. Good luck with your experiment, lady, and do keep us posted.
Twenty bucks buys plenty of shampoo at the dollar store where I usually get it. I feel that I am worth L'Oreal but my wallet doesn't agree.
everything is so expensive. :(
I'm interested to hear how the experiment goes.
