Today on 34th Street: DSW & Marni at H&M

Riding down the escalator at DSW 34th Street. Yes, I joined the cult for the coupons.

A lot was going on this morning on 34th Street. Not only were the Marni fans lined up at both 34th Street H&M stores (Herald Square and Penn Station), but DSW was packing them in for their store opening.

The store is three lovely floors of men's and women's shoes and handbags. Spotted: Charles Jourdan bags, Falchi bags, House of Harlow booties (above, left), and L.A.M.B booties (above, right). I also saw some nice wallets and iPad/laptop holders by the registers. My only complaint is no designer shoe section, and not a very robust designer shoe selection.

After checking out the shoes, I stopped by H&M Penn Station (34th & 7th Ave) to see how the Marni was going. It looked like this by 11:45am:

See the empty racks? Also...

I liked looking over and seeing a sole Versace for H&M look on the floor right next to all the Marni action. Speaking of...

Great, wearable collection. The lines for this collaboration didn't form as early as Versace did on 34th Street, and may not have been as densely populated, but this one sold FAST. Keep your eye out in the coming weeks for any returns.

It's nice that there is a DSW store, but too bad about the lack of selection.

I haven't yet made it to H&M for Marni. I will go soon.

Yes, the DSW store definitely needs more designer shoes. I mean, the DSW near me in suburbia has a better selection of designer shoes!
