Below, Nancy covers the W118 by Walter Baker presentation.

"Confidence and style are common threads connecting women all around the world
- and they forever inspire me" - Walter Baker
Walter Baker seamlessly combined elegance and youth in his W118 by Walter Baker presentation. Lined in a giant V formation, the models were plugged into the DJ system through funky Skullcandy headphones. The colorful headphones, neon cords, and tunes by DJs Sandra and Marsha Krcmar of Kissette added a hip vibe to the ultra-chic atmosphere.

There was a large variety of color and patterns in the collection, from neon colors to psychedelic daisy patterns, jacquard, ikat, and tropical patterns. Baker attempts to transform formal attire and quality fabrics into more laid-back, everyday pieces.

The detailed sheer lace and laser cut pieces were beautifully made, and well-accented with salmon and baby blue tones and neon accessories. Baker's psychedelic daisy cut is bright and fun, and was perfectly paired with ikat legging pants to create a print mix that looked great together. His "rope" pattern (above, bottom right) paired with the tropical pants, however, clashes and just misses the target for me.

The best ensemble included parrot print jungle tuxedo pants, a bright yellow leather jacket, and a silk aqua tank. This look best conveyed his mission of "casual elegance" by combining silk fabrics and tuxedo-styled pants with leather and bright jungle patterns.

Walter Baker also notably drew attention to his new line of handbags and jewelry. We're really hoping to see his gorgeous leather bags along with the W118 line at Macy's on 34th Street NYC this upcoming spring.
