Caftan Girl, Meet Zara

Zara blouses are almost always too big for my body. I rarely have this problem as I've got a nice set of shoulders and a wide back. So nice & wide that I was the go-to caftan girl for every Oscar de la Renta show that came to DC (old runway stomping grounds). At fittings the stylist would hold up a caftan and yell "where's my big back?" I would dutifully step forward as waifs giggled. But when I walked that runway for those DC matrons wearing an embellished Oscar caftan, they'd go nuts. Ladies who lunch in towns other than NYC are crazy for $5,000 caftans.

So how can it be, Zara, that the big-back caftan girl can't fit your blouses?
If you think this looks cute, this picture is misleading; I really wanted to buy this sheer plaid but it was too much top.

I have a problem with some of Zara's dresses, too:
Thanks for the shirt, Dad. No really, I've been looking for a cute shirt dress all summer. I've eyed some very sexy versions on the streets, so I was excited to see this one at Zara. But it wasn't sexy, just big.

This is much better:
I love the keyhole, how it buttons at the front of the neck, and the color and fit. Well, almost. What you can barely see is the major gap where I guess my breasts are supposed to be, right at my armpit. Do you guys have breasts like this?

I love Zara's jackets (usually have to go up a little in size b/c of abnormally long arms), I love their jeans (usually have to go up a little in size b/c of long legs and big ass) but what is going on with their shirts? What kind of freak body does their fit model have? Although it could just be my freak body that's the problem.

For those of you who don't have my Zara shirt problems, the plaid blouse is $79, the shirt dress is $89, and the sexy, off-white sleeveless blouse is $39.

Zara, 39 W. 34th between 5th & 6th

Hmmm... sorry to hear about that.
The plaid shirt is really cute.

I'm thinking of going tomorrow to the capital to see if there's something new for Fall in Zara, lets see if I get some luck.

Haven't been to Zara in ages and as a tall, skinny girl with a broad back and shoulders I find the back of their clothes *tiny.* I'm a 6-8 and their large barely fits. Maybe they changed the fit model?

I think you look great in all of them. As for boobs, I like to wear fake ones, but they fall out occasionally. Hahaha! Seriously!

*blushing and hiding from embarassment* what is a caftan?

I think zara definitely has some problems with construction.

LOL. This post made me giggle... I'm not sure if it was supposd to! LOL. But, it is very odd how they fit you. I have that problem with certain brands as well. Usually it's where they kind of just turn my boobs into pancakes. Who wants a top to do that to their boobs? Weird!

I don't remember the prada bowling shoes! Ugh. That sounds awesome though. =) They'd definitely probably be a lot better than the bowling shoes I stole. LOL.

giggle away, Farren, it's OK! yes, supposed to be funny but also frustrating, as I don't get their tops!
Lipstick - a caftan is like a muumuu (that's for Farren to explain, b/c she lives in Hawaii, home of the muumuu!) - just imagine a big robe, tent-like thing. seriously.
sister wolf - so you do the chicken cutlets? I've been meaning to get some - even Gap carries them now!
ramona - "shopping" 34th Street is part of my job! but i can't buy it all b/c i'm poor - we are a non-profit!
anon - it's not you, it's Zara! for me either it's too crazy big or way tiny.
seeker - buy some, take pics, show me if it fits you!!
everyone - thanks for the comments!

I just bought the plaid one today and wanted to see how it looks on other people. I think it looks great on you. What about a belt with it?
