Lela Rose Fall '09 Collection

I took the husband to the Lela Rose show Sunday morning where gift bags were kindly waiting under every seat. I regaled him with tales of gift bag theft that he refused to believe until a guy came by and scooped up two next to us. Then, on the subway home, I noticed my bag was missing a Stila compact. Raided! He was amazed, "what, are these people barbarians?" Hmmm. Let's just say the gift bag chemically changes the DNA of many show attendees to "primitive" and "larcenous."

Jennifer Love Hewitt, after being mobbed by 20+ cameramen with flashing bulbs.

And unfortunately our aisle at showtime filled up with latecomers who blocked the view. I've never seen this allowed at a show before, anyone else? Annoying.

Next, the clothes. I really like Lela Rose, I love how chic and practical her shoes are for Payless, and I admire her pert energy as she takes her bows on the runway. But her daywear for Fall '09 not so much: the colors were uninspiring and many of the fabrics looked inexpensive. But her evening collection was lovely. Also, Jennifer Love Hewitt was radiant in the first row.

The Payless shoes, diagonal strappy & cute as always for work.

One of the better, layered daytime looks.

These just fell flat for me.

Flowing dresses and a true, show-ending white beauty.

The collection looked really lovely but I hear she wanted to give the audience a "piece of the rainforest"? Not getting that from these dresses...

I love the layering.

I have to agree with yiqin. I really loved the layering. I also fell in love with the colors. But, I'm never a big fan of the shoes she puts out. I'm more of an A+O girl. I like the crazy stuff! Haha. I guess it's because I don't work -- I don't need any practical sheos. =)

Butterfly - ah, that may explain the fabric?
yiqin - that was one of the best day looks for sure, a real winner.
farren - very true, and you're also not the lady who lunches type, right?! you're an a+o girl all the way.
Sharon - BEAUTIFUL, love how they are easy and elegant, they look like you'd be comfortable and feel great all night.
Wendy - Violated!
