Post-Holiday Giveaway: Free Perricone

I was contacted by the Perricone people to give away some skin care products to my very worthy readers. As Sephora on 34th Street carries Perricone MD, including the featured giveaway product shown below, I couldn't resist. One of you lucky commenters will receive Perricone's Advanced Face Firming Activator that retails for $120. Here's the official Perricone word:

"Advanced Face Firming Activator transforms skin to appear firm, toned and absolutely glowing, while preventing further damage. Formulated with Alpha Lipoic Acid and DMAE that work synergistically to visibly resurface the skin's texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores, and reveal a radiant and healthy complexion."
Is not beauty copy writing some of the most persuasive writing in the advertising world? I used to browse Sephora on 34th Street for ages reading skin care descriptions and wallowing in the ensuing agony of how, for years, I had been grossly denying my skin such essential TLC. Well, leave a comment below and stop letting your skin lay the big guilt trip on you. Here's the rules:
  • Let's make it fun: Tell me what skin care product you spent oodles of $$ on that did nothing for your skin. Or...
  • Perhaps you carry no skin care product baggage, bitterness, or anger? Tell me what you love, share the wealth!
  •  Contest ends next Monday, July 13th, at noon. Winners will be chosen by a drawing. You'll be entered in the drawing if you give up a little skin care dirt, as listed above. US readers only.
Bon chance!

Sephora, 130 W. 34th St. between Broadway & 7th

I actually haven't tried a product for my skin that I hated! Lately I am super obsessed with LUSH facial cleanser bars, and with my Clarisonic skincare brush. So awesome! Definitely try both if yu havent already.

For years I used drug store skin care and each fail made me more frustrated than the last, enter in a friend who recommended Ole Henriksen On The Go Cleanser, love the stuff my face has been great since. That and an introduction to moisturizer has changed my life!

What a fun and fantastic contest! It was the famous and often tauted La mer that did NOTHING for me. I was better off with Nivea.

I've never spent a lot on any skin care products but one product I love, but wont be able to buy when I run out, is 3 lab's M cream. It came with Beautyfix2 and it is amazing! Love it :)

Not that anyone should go to this extreme, but i did accutane to clear up my skin, its a heavy duty pill that has to be monitored by a dermatologist, but i definitely improved my skin.

I love nothing as much as plain cheap Dove facial moisturizer. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=82926&catid=153115&aid=337953&aparam=dove_face_care_deep_mois&CAWELAID=61246885

i have yet to find a moisturizer that has visible effects on my skin after a short (like a month) period of time, but i have to use up the stuff i buy so i keep using it, figuring it has to help somewhere down the road.

i really like Patricia Wexler's Skin Regenerating Serum though (bought it at Bath & Body Works). It's not really a moisturizer, but more like a gel. It's for AM and PM use. I use a thinner layer in the morning under my makeup and it smooths out the creases in my forehead!

Wow... what a huge commment...

When I was in high school I spent a TON of money buying Clinique products- everything from eye make up removers to spot treatments. I don't know why, but I must have thought this stuff had magical powers that would instantly give me soft, clear skin. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Now I use a combination of a simple neutrogena wash, a dermatologist-perscribed pill and the Amine Complex Face Lift from Dr. Perricone. It's fantastic!

Although I'm short, God saw fit to balance the cosmic scales by blessing me with pretty good skin. As such, no product has really earned my wrath or my praise but I typically use Origins "A Perfect World" because who can argue with that name? What I am really interested to see is if this Perricone product will take my skin to a new level.

Cheers,

My biggest skin beauty secret is Vaseline. That's right :) I use it as my moisturizer. It gives my skin a youthful look that glows. You should try it girlie! Thanks for the chance to win this. I too have a wonderful giveaway this week. Check it out. "Ruffles Galore"

I have fallen victim to many beauty schemes. One of them is Natura Bisse, the diamond creams did nothing for my skin; and I purchased a bunch of SK-II products, which were okay, but not as much as I thought. The best product for my skin these days??? Aveeno. That's the drugstore night cream, ladies. My skin never looked better, strangely enough.

I spend a fortune buying new and different products that claimed to work wonders. I must have bought over 30 different lotions, cleaners and toners and didn't get the results I wanted. I would love to try Perricone, I heard Oprah approves it!

I try to keep it simple with my skin care stuff. I have a prescribed cream, and then I use Cetaphil facial moisturizer and I have a weakness for brightly colored good smelling cleansers with bursting beads. But I'd love to try some Perricone!

Basically anything that I've tried for my oily skin has not helped. My
T-zone is BAD and nothing seems to really help. At least not enough to make me fully satisfied.

I spent about $100 on a set of creams from H2O+ that were meant to reduce lines and not only did it not do that, it left my skin dull and dry :( The worst part is that there were tons of great reviews on their site.

I'm sticking with my Olay moisturizer :)

I use Renova at bedtime, and I have a giant, and I mean huge, pimple today. Bigger than anything, ever.
