Best Summer Shoes at Payless 34th Street

Don't forget to enter the $100 Lady Foot Locker gift certificate giveaway for Mother's Day!

Maybe I picked these Dexter sandals as one of my favorite shoes in 34th St. Payless because it was actually hot this past weekend. They are very cute on.

Dexter "Xena" braided-toe sandals
, $19.99.

And these alice + olivia Jazz Oxfords ($29.99) had me panting around the aisles searching for a ten (my feet, post-partum, are a half-size to size bigger). But alas, no tens. These are already selling fast.

Fashion bloggers will no doubt be panting for these other new alice + olivia summer shoes. Once again, alice + olivia has cooked up a fun Payless collection.

I love the black and white ($39.99) and the heel height is totally manageable, but they rock you forward when you walk. Be sure to mind that forward momentum.

Forget about easy walking in the clogs ($39.99). If you have heel-height issues, don't bother with these, they were not so easy, nor comfortable.

This alice + olivia gladiator sandal ($39.99) is even taller than the clog. I didn't try them on although I especially like the wood paneling. But hey, where's the alice + olivia tassel? This sandal was available in several sizes at the store on 34th & Broadway.

Then there were some new Christian Siriano's, which all kind of underwhelmed, particularly when compared to last season's limited-edition talon heel.

I tried these pretty strappy heels ($34.99), but like I said, all I can think of is the fabulous talon heels...

And while we're talking Payless and fashion bloggers, here's an excellent article by IFB's Jennine Tamm regarding Payless' partnership with Chictopia for the shoe company's Style Watch page. One of the morals of the story is: read the fine lines before you click. And start thinking about protecting your creative property.

Sometimes I wish I didn't have to be on the internet at all but it's a necessity for doing business these days.

I dream of shutting it all down and moving to a tropical island.

WendyB - I was just thinking something similar the other day - it's a lovely dream!
Kristin - They are so cute in person! The Dexter line always has a cute shoe or two per season.
Rashida - Noooo! Which sucks, but I'm on a buying ban. Saw a girl on the bus this morning wearing them - so cute on her!
