Yesterday I was scouting smoothie shops in the 34th Street district for our next video shoot. Annoyingly, we have very few smoothie shops. What the heck, isn't Jamba Juice supposed to be everywhere? So, unfueled by sweet fruit shakes, I was susceptible to an inner voice luring me into Old Navy with yells of "sale!" But once inside, another voice gushed "oooo, new pieces!" I attended the latter, because some of the new items bode well for what may be in store for fall. And all those voices? Don't worry, we normally get along fine. Here's some highlights:
The knit dress in the dove grey ($34.50) is my winner. The shape, the fabric (medium weight and not wussy) the perfect neutral color, it's begging to be worn alone now and then layered come fall. Todd Oldham, anyone?
Runner-ups are the black jumpsuit ($29.50) and that cute little anorak ($29.50). Unfortunately, I only saw an XS and lots of larges in the jumpsuit; guess it's been around for a while. That floral print skirt ($26.50) also comes in a very cute dress (see Lucky magazine, p. 60, $30) and a top. But I love the gauzy blue blouse ($24.50).
And the stretchy, drop-waist, striped dresses? All my voices were yelling "ack, horizontal stripes, holiday weekend bloat!" But we all decided to show you anyway, because at $26.50 they might look very cute on one of y'all (that's my southern voice talking).

yes, i have been pondering the smoothie situation on 34th street as well. sometimes -- not too often, but sometimes -- pinkberry doesn't hit the spot that a jamba juice does. there's some smoothie trucks i'm aware of on 33rd st. between 7th and 8th by penn station, but jamba juice they are not.
You're so patient to try on so many things and take pictures! Trying things on just wears me out. I really like the darker striped dress on you.
Wow, I'm surprised that Old Navy has such a funky jumpsuit, very cool. A lot of cute stuff here, especially that first dress.
I don't usually like long jumpsuits but that black one looks great! I like the first dress and the floral skirt as well!
Dear, the jumpsuit looks super cool! I totally love it! The shape is incredible xxxxxxxxx

Dear Miss Fashion...
Call me crazy, but I think the horizntal stripes look fab on you! And I avoid them like the plague!

Yes, the horizontal stripes are big winners!
I especially dig the "winner" dress... it looks so lovely on you and that color is beautiful!
