Did anyone pay $45 for these?
Hope not. I think the general consensus with this Crangi Gap Design Editions was: too, too expensive for that little bolt and chain. But as I was standing at the Gap counter on 34th Street the other day digging round for a coupon (!), I spotted them. And they are now 25% off of $6.99. That's more like it. I got three, two blacks and a gold. I wanted the white to mix in, but it was missing the bolt. So really, what's the point? Of course, my husband looked askance when I showed him my score. A person handy with things like hammers, drills, etc. is befuddled by anyone paying even the low price of $5.20 for a bolt hanging from what is, essentially, a dime-store chain. That's fashion, baby!
Speaking of Design Editions, I was cruising the Gap website this morning and these boots caught my eye:
I must speculate, are these the "Design Editions" for fall, perhaps courtesy of the famed French shoe designer we know and love? Hmmm. Please click on that tall boot and check out the detail. Click on them all and check out the details, as I'm a little excited. If any of you fashionbeasta* insiders know more, please dish!
And speaking of Pierre, I must remind all of you scooping up Pierre's Gap shoes for under $22 (insert coughing, choking noise) that the gladiators run big! You must try them on, as a co-worker learned the hard way after hauling a pair of the silver gladiators back from Chicago this weekend, only to discover her 7 is more like an 8.

These tall boots are totally gorgeous!!
aren't they?? I love the metallic accents.
I was digging those necklaces but couldn't justify the cost... looks like I'll have to stop by the Gap tomorrow now!
You're right - those necklaces, though cute are definitely not worthy of $45.
And I love those boots and the skirts even more...I have been looking for the perfect dark slim denim skirt FOREVER and can't find what I want...the one on the bottom left looks pretty darn good.
The tall boots are rockin'.
love the boots, just what i'm looking for for Fall!
I haven't gone into Gap for years! I'm not sure why. I kind of avoid it like the plague. But, seeing as how you keep posting up Gap stuff I'm thinking of popping up. You seem to find some good stuff! =)
Miss Fashion, we must admit (gasp!) that some of the boots look rockin' for us as well! Fancy that!
TP
Damn, I love the necklaces and all the boots. I'm heading for The Gap!
oops, prunella, sorry, didn't make clear these boots aren't in stores yet! I'm just sending out some good internet love to bring them our way!
but the necklaces, if you're lucky, could be right on your gap's counter.
$45...it's such craziness!!! Good spotting!
Love these boots, really stylish )))
Hugs from Angel.
Men just dont get it. Although they have no problem paying top dollar for tickets to major sporting events - "Sports are your thing, fashion is mine, deal with it!" xf
Love the boots!
Gotta have those boots..maybe for fall.
These boots will ensure a good stylish and comfy autumn winter 2008! I totally love them! I hope to see the real items soon xxxxxxxx
I'd love to get my hands on those boots!
Thanks to your devious and tempting post, I had to go to the Gap last night. An spend far too much. Sigh.
ooh, iyf, i have to see what you got, I'm curious! I do honestly believe patrick robinson has put some life into gap.
I was one of the fools who paid full price for the Philip Crangi necklace. Then it arrived and I was like "Seriously?" - I returned it like 5 minutes later. Could not get myself to the Gap fast enough.
But for THAT price, I'll rethink it!
But they looked so good online, Dina! So good at first I thought they were belts, ha!
