The Return of the Corset

I saw a lot of these at Charlotte Russe in Manhattan Mall:

But this one ($29.99) was my favorite for the ivory lace and diagonal seaming. You can expect the corset to make a return to fashion consciousness every 4 - 5 years, although I like to have a good corset top in the closet year after year. Great for dressing up a black tie look, the corset is not just for the boudoir anymore. Although it's helpful to keep a couple stashed in there, too.

Really, the corset as outer wear is back in? It is so Madonna in the 80's.

Thank you for bringing Madonna into the discussion! I feel like I've been talking Madonna too much lately.
And I saw about 6 versions of the corset at Charlotte Russe.

I'm glad you're not modeling that, as Lord Byron liked to blame his club foot on his mother for wearing too-tight corsets.

I adore my comments today! Of course, I love my comments every day, but it's not often you get Madonna and Lord Byron in one comment feed.

That is one georgeous corset. And I agree with your thoughts on a corset as evening wear. Great look.

I do like corsets but I have yet to find one that is comfortable and fits the way I want it to.

LOVE THESE. I bet it would look good with a sheer blouse layered on top, too. Yum!
