Luckily, my man advised me to crash the Carlos Miele show. "Seu Jorge is performing," he said, "you have to go." Ok. And as I sat on my couch today, taking a break from the tents and nursing the fashion week flu, I thought to check the schedule and saw the Miele show was at 3pm. Mad dash! (And once again, dry shampoo to the rescue.)
I made it just in time, the PR girls with shiny hair gave me standing room, and the line was totally manageable. Yes, I only waited for a few minutes and actually got in. A miracle for me this week.
And Joy! Seu Jorge was amazing. This sounds really cheesy, but he walked out of the DJ booth and stalked the models up and down the runway. And it was so natural; he was playing the girls and the crowd perfectly. Here's the beginning half of the show for those interested:
Hard to see the details of the clothes (I'm an amateur; that's all the easy button gave me), and when you're taping it's difficult to get a good read on the line as a whole. Here's what I was struck by: easy elegance, beautiful reds (yes, for spring, and lovely), light greens and soft blues, and flowing, moving fabrics. Miele calls this collection "a dance between nature and the female body," and just as Seu interacted easily with the models, the clothes, too, fell seamlessly round bodies down the runway. There were touches of sparkle on belts and straps and perfect little sheath dresses. But I think this shot sums it up:
It's got flow, it's got legs, it's green, it's got it all.
Sorry, this shot isn't saying so much but I wanted you all to see this multi-toned cherry red.
Look closely, a strappy shoe!
A perfect little sheath.
Sparkly, jeweled straps; good lord, look at that ass detailing, it's fabulous.
The finale; see Seu in the second photo? He either tripped a little or did it to make the girls laugh. I love him.

I LOVE carlos miele!! i actually did a post about him sometime back when I saw a runwayshow of his on tv. i love how he plays brazilian music in the background with the beat. and i like even more how his runways look is ready to wear.
that very first green dress has me in awe good GOD that is like a living dream!
glamouricious - me too, love his clothes! they make me want to go to a party and then walk along a beach.
jillian - i know, it is! Seriously a lovely frock.
oh no, are you sick too? (or just sick of the girls at the tents?)
i tried taking photos today while i was at doo.ri and i had to stop after the third look because reviewing the clothes and using photo equipment made me suck at doing both. i decided to leave the photos to the pros.
I'm so glad you included the video because it looked much better than it sounded. Towards the end did he disappear backstage or was he out of frame?
As for the clothes I'll need to take a closer look but from where you were standing, they looked beautiful.
Hi there-what a great experience, lucky you!! The show looked awesome!
If you love him, I love him. That's how much I trust you!
really great show! you had a great time!
Oh woe! To be sick this week must suck beyond all human comprehension ...
eeps - Nowhere near as sick as you, just worn down sick. I hope you're feeling better, one day to go!
imelda - he went backstage for a bit, then out again, then walked/sang the girls down for the finale.
sharon - thanks!
Sister - you have to trust your office manager! I never steal pens, promise!
angel - thanks!
sal - much better today.
from what i can see, those dresses are very pretty. aren't fashion show the best.... : )
So fantastic! I am a bit envious that you got to see all those gorgeous gowns in person . . .

Love the green! Thanx for sharing!
wow! lucky you! he is a great singer and I am also a fan of his style and songs :)
a kiss my friend!
thanks for the video!
wow! thanks for the video! i'm glad i got to see some of what you saw although not even close in comparison! haha :) it looks like just wonderful
Lots of great looks here! I love all the green.
kind of ridiculously envious of your fashion week ridiculousness. la fashion week is seriously the worst. think kim kardasian or better yet courtney kardashian strutting the runway in $500 sweats. no joke. thank goodness i can live vicariously through you!
