I tried on the demented talon heel today, and I can sum it up in three words: FAB U LOUS. It falls in the middle of the Hurt/Doesn't Hurt scale. From my trips up and down the Payless aisle and according to the woman next to me trying them on, we can tell you they are more comfortable than they look. She bought a pair, by the way. But stock is limited so act fast as I saw only one or two sizes in each style. Also, I was more comfortable in the 10 than the 9, and I'm a 9 1/2 (no half sizes, according to salesclerk).
Awesome fasteners. These were very cute under jeans, but I'd want to show off the details.
These shoes can be navigated. But I cannot tell you that these talon platform styles are going to be easy to walk in. Like all show-stopping pieces, they take some commitment: take them home and walk around your kitchen tiles, your carpeted areas, your wooden floors, and up and down your steps. Do a little homework and make them proud.
I was most surprised by this style, as I normally don't like a blinged-out, busy shoe. Love them.
As I said before, there aren't a lot of sizes on the floor, and there was no back-stock. The salesclerk said she didn't know if more would be coming. And guess what's sold out online already? All 3 styles (I didn't get a shot of the blue print pump). Well, except for the mary jane pump (top), which is still available in a size 11. Right about now would be a great time to run down to 34th & Broadway.
Payless, 34th Street just west of Broadway
