Below, Nancy contemplates the versatility of leather at the Leather Japan show.
The Leather Japan 2012 presentation was organized by the Japan Leather Goods Development Committee and a variety of designers had the opportunity to showcase their top looks for Fall 2012. The leather bags all had a buttery quality to them, and were displayed in an aerial ring in the center of the room. Though none were particularly eye catching, the majority fell in the category of a well made and classic leather tote.

I love the composition of the coat on the left because it is not normally a design you would see made of leather. It's a leather blazer fused with a capelet, mixed with a bit of edge from the leather. On the right, the shoes instantly evoke Lady Gaga, platformed and heel-less. The geometric detail on the leggings and dress, that isn't visible in the image, was simply stunning.
We're seeing a Western touch in most of the shows at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and in this presentation it's fringe. I think the styled hair works perfectly with the look on the left. Not loving the last 2 looks so much as the mix of fur, lace, and leather appears clunky, and the burgundy coat looks a bit frumpy (love the leather color though).
